Shannon (Humphrey) Sedberry

Shannon Humphrey Sedberry, passed away on August 1, 2025, at the age of 42 at home surrounded by her family.

Born on July 9, 1983, in Randolph County, she was a daughter of Oza Humphrey (Teresa) of Seagrove and Kim Smith Christiana (Larry) of Star.

Shannon is survived by her husband of 11 years, Dustin Keith Sedberry of the home; her son, Mason Hussey of Mt. Gilead; her daughters, Aubrey Morales (Martin) of Mt. Gilead, Carley Sedberry, Josie Sedberry, and Hadley Hussey all of the home; brothers, Brad Humphrey of Mt. Gilead, Dakota Humphrey (Brynn) of Staley and Jona Humphrey (Celeste) of Seagrove; and sister, Emma Kearns (Drew) of Seagrove.

Professionally, Shannon touched many lives as a Certified Medical Assistant at Troy Medical and as a Phlebotomist Instructor at Montgomery Community College.

She was an avid fan of old country music, and her interests were many. Shannon was an animal lover, a person of deep faith, and an individual who found the greatest fulfillment in helping others. Her selflessness was evident and she made a huge impact on many people. She was the kind of person who would go out of her way to help someone. Shannon was a second mom to everyone, a role she embraced with grace and joy.

Shannon's impact on this world was profound, and she will be deeply missed by her loving family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at Family Worship Ministries officiated by Dr. Harold Pope, Rev. Jeffrey Pope and Tony Sedberry.  Burial will follow at Sedberry Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service.
