Seymour "Steve" Lurie, 82, died Tuesday, October 20, 2009.
A graveside service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Sandhills Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake.
He is survived by his wife, Ann McFarland Lurie; a son, Martin Lurie and wife, Cheryl of Aspen, CO; two daughters, Sue Imbaratto and husband, John of Laurinburg and Christine Henneman and husband, Tim of Zebulon; 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Born May 11, 1927 in New York, he was a son of the late Isadore and Lillian Brenner Lurie. He served in the US Navy during World War II and later was a long distance truck driver. Following retirement, he and his wife lived in and sailed their 36 foot boat along the eastern seaboard and Gulf of Mexico, later trading it in for a motor home that they used to travel around the United States.
