Sam Roger Robbins, 82, died Tuesday, July 13.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Jones Springs Cemetery near Derby by the Rev. Robert Carpenter.

He is survived by his wife, Sarah Campbell McInnis Robbins; two sons, Roger Robbins and wife, Sue of Roanoke, VA and John Robbins and partner, James Brayboy of Ellerbe; a brother, the Rev. Dr. Jack Robbins and wife, Jennie of Norman, OK; three sisters, Jean Lee and husband, Dan of Greensboro, Peggy Long of Ellerbe, Barbara Adams and husband, Mitchell of Fayetteville; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Robbins and two sisters, Dorothy Rummage and Mary Patterson.

Born August 11, 1927 in Richmond County, he was a son of the late Marmaduke and Mamie Garner Robbins. Same served eight years with the US Army and was a farmer.
Visitation will follow the service at the Community Center.
