Sally Gentry Trawick

December 4, 1940 — January 26, 2015

Laurinburg

Sally Gentry Trawick (74) of Laurinburg, N.C. and Alpharetta, GA went to be with the Lord, peacefully surrounded by her three children on Monday January 26th. Ms. Trawick is survived by her three children Todd (Marsha) Marvel of Springfield, IL, Jeno (Kim) Marvel of Alpharetta, GA and Sam (Crystal) Trawick of Monroe, NC; five grandchildren - Jarrett, Kara, Noelle, Jackson and Jace; her sister Elizabeth Chamberlain of Laurel Hill, N.C.; two stepchildren Bobby (Terri) Trawick and Mark (Michelle) Trawick; and 4 step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Gentry.

Sally was born in Red Springs, North Carolina to the late Samuel Wilborn Gentry and Bertha Jackson Gentry. She grew up on a farm outside Maxton and loved to tell stories about hanging tobacco and delivering eggs. She loved to travel and her favorite places were the Bahamas and England. She loved to cook and bake, read, dance, golf, laugh and walk on the beach.

Sally worked as a legal secretary, paralegal, loan officer and marketing coordinator and eventually retired from Eaton Corporation in Laurinburg in 2004. After retirement she moved to Georgia to live with her daughter and devoted her time to her book club and volunteer work at the public library, the local food bank and the police office.

She will be remembered by her children and grandchildren as a loving mother and grandmother, mentor, confidant and friend; always there to provide advice and guidance and most importantly unconditional love. May her love of life and unique sense of humor carry on in those who knew and loved her.

Mustang Sally; guess you better slow your mustang down…….
