Mrs. Sallie Mac Prevatte Peden, 92, of Scotia Village and formerly of Wagram died Saturday, November 5, at Scotland Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Montpelier Presbyterian Church officiated by the Rev. Holly Russell. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.

She is survived two sons, James H. "Jim" Peden and wife, Bonnie of Apex and Dennis Peden of Wagram; a brother, the Rev. Archie C. Prevatte and wife, Helen of Dillon, SC; two grandchildren, Sarah Peden and Hunter Peden of Apex; several nieces and nephews.

Born September 28, 1913 in Robeson County, she was a daughter of the late, M. G. and Theresa Humphrey Prevatte and widow of the late J. Howard Peden. She was a graduate of Campbell College and Western Carolina College and taught elementary school for 33 years, most recently at East Laurinburg and Wagram.

Sallie Mac was also a volunteer for the American Red Cross, a member of the Wagram Homemakers, and the Finesse Bridge Club.

Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Monday at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
