Ruth Smith Holcomb

Mrs. Ruth Smith Holcomb, 83, died Friday, January 16, at the Edwin Morgan Center. She formerly lived at 1415 Atkinson Street, Laurinburg.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium Chapel officiated by Dr. Phil Barrineau and the Rev. James Caviness. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery.
She is survived by two sons, Ben Holbomb and Robert Holcomb of Laurinburg; three daughters, Dottie Heppert of Charlotte, Judy Lockey of Laurinburg, and JoAnn Gentry of Maxton; three brothers, Marshall Smith, Marcus Smith, and Benny Smith of Laurinburg; 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Born June 30, 1920 in Scotland County, she was a daughter of the late Martin L. and Della Wright Smith. She was formerly employed in security for Fieldcrest Mills.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Saturday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
