Mrs. Ruth Sanford Frazier, 86, of 603 Crestwood Drive, Greensboro passed away on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2003. At her bedside was her loving son Sanford (Sandy) Frazier of the home. Survivors include a son, T. Jefferson Frazier of Oakland, CA and a daughter, Catherine F. Rogers of Buffalo, NY.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium Chapel officiated by the Rev. Quinton Covington. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
She was born in Monroe, NC on September 4, 1917, the daughter of William Wesley and Flora Campbell Sanford. She was the youngest of eight brothers and sisters of whom one sister still survives, Mrs. Doris Maddox of Laurinburg and sister-in-law, Gladys Sanford. She is also survived by four grandsons and many special cousins. Appreciation is expressed to Ms. Mildred Bethune, Mrs. Billie Lathan, and especially Mrs. Pat Culp and her family, and Mrs. Judy Lee and her family for all their help and support.
Mrs. Frazier was a dedicated, honest, and hard working woman, who worked with all children up to the age of 80 when her handicap developed following a day of teaching school. She was truly an angel of love and kindness.
Visitation will be 9-11 a.m.Thursday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium in Laurinburg.
