Ruby Lee (Deaver) Rhye, of Atlanta, Georgia, formerly of Laurinburg, North Carolina passed away Thursday, October 20, 2016.
Born in Dillon, South Carolina, January 15, 1926 to Fred and Mary Deaver, Ruby became known as 'Nanny' by family and friends. Ruby married Earl Otis Rhye and was a mother of four to Patricia, Diane, Mike and Richard.
Ruby spent the latter part of her professional career as a Glass Inspector at Libbey-Owens-Ford Company where she eventually retired in 1991. Throughout her life, Ruby enjoyed going to the beach and finding a spot to do some fishing with her family. During the last 15 years, Ruby lived with her daughter in Atlanta and spent her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ruby is survived by her daughter Diane and her son Mike; her grandchildren Dawn, Denise, Jeff and Michael; and her 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 27 at Central United Methodist Church followed by burial in Hillside Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 26 at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
