He is survived by his wife, Faye Rierson Deaton; a son, Donovan Deaton of Asheville; a brother, Richard Deaton of Laurinburg; a sister, Barbara Catts and husband, Ross of Florence, SC; a sister-in-law, Alice Deaton of Tatum, SC; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Deaton of Shallotte.
Born August 8, 1950 in Richmond County, he was a son of the late Lacy Thomas and Zennie Baxter Deaton. Ronnie served with the US Navy and was later employed with Railroad Friction Products, Scotland Memorial Hospital, and Home Beneficial Life Insurance Co.
