Roger Lee Thrower

Roger Lee Thrower, 60 of Laurinburg, passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Morrison Manor.

A funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 4, 2018 at the McDougald Funeral Home Bumgarner Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Carl Redding. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 2-3 p.m. in the chapel and other times at 11280 Troon Circle, Laurinburg.

Born September 25, 1957 in Scotland County, he was a son of the late Marvin F. and Kathleen Walters Thrower. Roger had a love for Drag Racing, Nascar and Dale Earnhardt Sr. He enjoyed family trips to the beach and fishing and was considered a Jokester due to his love for making others laugh.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Cindy Vann Thrower of the home; his son, Ryan Lee Thrower of Myrtle Beach, SC; his brother’s, Frankie Thrower (Martha) and Ricky Thrower all of Laurinburg; his aunt, Lela Stubbs (Jessie) of Laurinburg; a niece, Pamela Gardner of Jacksonville, NC; brother-in-law’s, Mark Vann (Lori) and Bill Vann Jr. (Elaine) all of Laurinburg; his father-in-law, Bill Vann Sr. of Laurinburg; and a host of nieces and nephews.
