Roger Mack Harris, 74, of 8000 Scotch Meadow Drive died suddenly Tuesday, June 18.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Luke United Methodist Church officiated by the Rev. Denny Wise. Burial will follow in the McCall Cemetery in Bennettsville, SC.
He is survived by his wife, Dianne Harris; a daughter, Dawn Wagoner and husband, Jim of Laurinburg; a step-daughter, Marilyn Ackerman of New Orleans; a brother, the Rev. Gene Harris and wife, Betty of Bennettsville; a sister, Dorothy Watson of Cheraw; three grandchildren, Roger E. Wagoner of Greenville, SC, Laurel Starkey of Aberdeen, and Meredith Hurst of New Orleans; a great grandson, William A. Starkey of Aberdeen.
Born April 21, 1928 in Quitman, GA, he was a son of the late Wade H. and Margaret Boseman Harris. He attended NC State University and served in the US Navy. Roger was an administrator and director of engineering at New Hanover Medical Center in Wilmington for almost 30 years.
He was an active member of St. Luke United Methodist Church, serving as a choir member, on the pastor-parish relations committee, and was an ordained lay leader. He was also a Mason and past master of the Laurinburg Lodge.
