Robert Lee Young, Sr.

Robert Lee Young, Sr., 99, of Troy, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2024 at FirstHealth Montgomery Memorial Hospital.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 2:00 p.m.at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service Chapel in Troy, officiated by Evangelist Emily Covington. Burial will follow at Freeman Hill Cemetery in Troy.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service prior to the service.

Born October 22, 1924, in Montgomery County, he was the son of the late Johnny and Callie Shaw Young. Robert had served in the US Air Force. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved making breakfast and having his cup of coffee every morning. Robert was a jokester and was always happy. He enjoyed watching Westerns, Jeopardy, and Wheel of Fortune.

He is survived by his son, Robert Lee Young, Jr. of Troy; sister, Rebecca Little of Troy; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Helen Latiker Young and several children.
