Mr. Robert Van 'Bob' Wright, 54, of 143 W. Graham Street died suddenly Wednesday, December 9, at his residence.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church officiated by the Revs. David Cagle and Malcolm McIver. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Allen Wright; two daughters, Lynn W. Rowley and her husband, Russ, and Jill W. Byers and her husband, Andy of Fort Myers, FL; a son Skeet Woolard of Rocky Mount, two brothers, Ray Wright of Troy, MI and Doug Wright of Pinehurst; his mother-in-law, Ruth McLeod Allen of Maxton; 2 granddaughters and 1 grandson.
He was born July 6, 1944 in Pontiac, MI and graduated from Lawrence Institute of Technology. He established National Twist Drill in Maxton in 1975, and was the former manufacturing manager for Ilco-Unican in Rocky Mount. He was currently manufacturing representative with Dero, Inc. of Montreal.
Bob was formerly active with the Maxton Jaycees, was a member of the Maxton Downtown Revitalization, and the Scotch Meadows Country Club.
Visitation will be 7 - 9 p.m. Friday at the residence.
