Mr. Robert Nash "Bob" Thompson, 71, of 9301 McLeod Road died Saturday, March 26, at Scotland Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Faith Presbyterian Church officiated by the Rev. James Bumgardner. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.

He is survived by his wife, Sarah Walls Thompson; two daughters, Rhonda Stupak and husband, Scott of Raleigh and Deena Landry and husband, Darin of Oahu, HI; a brother, Jimmy Thompson of Salimar, FL; three grandchildren, Nichole, Jon Ross and Boyd. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Thompson and a sister, Jackie Thompson Stacey.

Born August 13, 1933 in Robeson County, he was a son of the late Ernest P. and Grace Howell Thompson.

Bob was a former member of the Laurinburg Civitan Club, a volunteer for the Special Olympics, and a Boy Scout leader. He was retired from the NC Department of Corrections.

Memorials may be made to Faith Presbyterian Church building fund, 2220 Elm Ave., Laurinburg, NC 28352.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
