Robert Allen Raber, 80, passed away on May 30, 2012, at Scotia Village.
A funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium Chapel, officiated by the Dr. Thomas Marshall. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
He is survived by his wife, Connie Mattox Raber; two sons, Gary Raber ( Juanita) and Douglas Raber (Anne) of Laurinburg; one daughter, Sharon Stover ( JJ )of Laurinburg; one brother, Dan Raber of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and four grandchildren, Brian Raber, Brent Raber, Austin Raber and Brandon Raber. He was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Gloria D. Raber.
He was born July 17, 1931 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, a son of the late Roy and Vivian Deerwedster Raber. For many years he worked in management for Emerson Electric. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Robert was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 1, 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
