Maxton
Robert Colon McArthur, 79, passed away Tuesday, April 26.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Friday at Centre Presbyterian Church officiated by the Rev. Dr. Howard Whitehurst. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jennie Parnell McArthur; his sons, Bob McArthur (Nickie) and Randall McArthur (Angie Bishop) of Maxton; his brothers, Doug McArthur (Kay) of Maxton and Everette McArthur (Linda) of Nichols, SC; his sister, Margaret Miller of Maxton; his grandchildren, Brandon McArthur, R. J. McArthur, and Randi "Roo Bear" McArthur.
Born May 8, 1937 in Scotland County, he was a son of the late Wade and Jeddie McDonald McArthur, and was also preceded in death by his brothers, Charles "Charlie" McArthur and William "Bill" McArthur.
Follow the passing of his father in 1973, he took over operations of McArthur Plant Farm where they raised produce, plants, cattle, and hogs. An active member of Centre Presbyterian Church, he served as a Deacon and Elder and was active in their annual Ingathering.

Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
