Robert Edward "Eddie" Monroe, Jr., 61, died suddenly Monday, February 18, 2008.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the McNeill Cemetery officiated by the Rev. Bobby Dean.
He is survived by two sons, Robbie Monroe and Matthew Monroe of Laurinburg; two daughters, Marie Monroe of Greenville, SC and Helen Monroe Quesneberry of Creedmoor; a brother, Fairley Monroe of Apex; a sister, Margie Dean of Laurinburg.
Born November 8, 1946 in Scotland County, he was a son of the late Robert E. and Margaret Ray Newton Monroe. He served in the US Air Force as a mechanic and was a carpenter.
Memorials may be made to Hospice, PO Box 1033, Laurinburg, NC 28353.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
