Robert Stewart "Bob" Lockey, 87, died Monday, January 12.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium Chapel officiated by the Rev. Dr. Neal Carter and the Rev. Elizabeth Forester. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
He is survived by his wife, Susan K. Combs Lockey; four sons, Nelson Lockey and wife, Kay of Rocky Mount, Jimmy Lockey of Laurinburg, Morrison Lockey and wife, Sandy of Laurinburg, and Bobby Lockey and wife, Rita of Fayetteville; two daughters, Vivian Sellers and husband, Mitchell of Laurinburg and Lynda Lovick and husband, Tim of Sanford; 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Born June 7, 1921 in Laurinburg, he was a son of the late James Duncan and Laura Stewart Lockey. Bob served in the US Army in the Pacific during World War II, and worked in sales for McLaurin-McArthur Chevrolet for over 50 years.
Notorious for his volunteer efforts, Bob help reconstruct the historic cotton gin and cotton press at the John Blue house, volunteered for Habitat for Humanity and Meals on Wheels. He was also a member of the Golden K Club, the American Legion, the VFW, and was a regular in the Stubbs Club that met at Elsworth Stubbs shop.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
