Mr. Robert Worth "Bob" Hampton, 84, of 17482 St. Johns Church Road died Friday, November 3, at Scotland Memorial Hospital.
A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Laurel Hill United Methodist Church. Visitation will follow the service in the church fellowship hall.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca "Becky" Isenhour Hampton; four sons, H. Worth Hampton of King, George "Buddy" Hampton of Rock Hill, SC, Bobby Hampton and Lynn Hampton of Laurel Hill; two sisters, May Wilkes and Lucille Saunders of Newton; 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
He was born in Unaka, NC on October 19, 1916 as a son of the late Robert L. and Hattie Matheson Hampton. He graduated from Catawba College where he held pitching records and homerun records a
