Robert "Bobby" A. Sprouse, Jr.

Robert “Bobby” Allen Sprouse, Jr., 74 of Mt. Gilead, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 4, 2018.

A funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 9, 2018 at Calvary Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Reese English.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Born July 13, 1944 in Laurens County, SC, he was the son of the late Robert Allen Sprouse, Sr. and Edna Lucille Putnam Sprouse.  Bobby was an Industrial Engineer in the textiles industry and was a very active member of Calvary Baptist Church.  He was also a board member of the Wadeville Fire Department. He loved gardening and blessing people with the bounty from his garden.

He is survived by his children, Donna Dickinson and husband, Mike of Asheboro, Angie Sasser and husband, Harold, of Troy, Robert Sprouse, III and wife, Denise of Seagrove, Maggie Hinson and husband, Bryan of New London and Alexis Sprouse of Gastonia; a brother, Kenneth Sprouse of Laurens, SC and a sister, Brenda Coates of Laurens, SC; fourteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Calvary Baptist Church from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
