Mr. Richard Franklin Williams, 70, of Ocean Isle Beach, formerly of Laurinburg, died Wednesday, January 30, at Sea Coast Medical Center in Little River, SC.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church officiated by Revs. Jerry Lowry, Nancy Willard and Robert Redmond.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Davidson Williams; his mother, Muriel Jones Evans of Laurinburg; three daughters, Terry Craven and husband Rock of Martinsville, IN, Mary Gib Conley and husband, Wyndon of Laurinburg and Susan Barnes and husband, Brett of Wilmington, NC; one step-daughter, Carmi Farrell and husband, Rob of Charlotte, NC; one step-son, Alex Debnam Florida; one brother, Dr. David Williams of Laurinburg; one sister, Barbara Evans of Goldsboro; nine grandchildren, Josh Craven, Shuler Craven, Jordan Conley, Gunnar Conley, Russ Conley, Alan Barnes, Charlie Barnes, Hannah Farrell, Austin Farrell.

He was born April 4, 1932 in Burlington, NC and was a son of the late David A. Williams and lived in Johns, NC while growing up. He attended Laurinburg High School, Oak Ridge Academy and UNC-CH. Richard served in the US Army after which he along with Bill Evans formed and operated the Bill Evans Company, which he ran until 1994 when he retired to Ocean Isle Beach.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at McDougald Funeral and Crematorium.
