Richard "Todd" Callicutt, 74, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 26, 2025, at his home in Troy.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery in Troy, officiated by Rev. Rodney Holmes. The family will receive friends following the service.
Born on December 1, 1950, in Montgomery County, he was a son of Perry and Shirley Sanders Callicutt. Todd was a man of simple joys. He found his greatest happiness in spending time with his family and friends, especially his beloved grandsons, Connor and Owen. Todd had a passion for antique cars and the thrill of finding hidden treasures at yard sales, always seeing the potential in what others might overlook — a true believer in "trash to treasure."
In his earlier years, Todd was often found lending a hand to friends and family in his shop, a place where many memories and friendships were built. A good hot dog and a friendly conversation were among life's finest pleasures in his eyes.
Todd is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Fena Reynolds Callicutt of the home; his daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Matthew Lucas; his grandsons, Connor and Owen Lucas; his sister, Merle Williams; sisters-in- law, Joy Hannah, and Kathy Elliott (Larry); and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Todd is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Myra Richardson; and brothers, TR Callicutt, and David (Doug) Callicutt.
The family would also like to extend a special thank you to FirstHealth Hospice and those who have been so gracious to help in his final months.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 819 Mt Carmel Church Rd, Troy, NC 27371, in his memory.
Bumgarner Family Funeral Service is serving the Callicutt family.
