Reuben "Jay" Pierce, III, 48, passed away Friday, January 1.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium Chapel. Burial with fireman's rites will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
He is survived by his daughter, Kelli Shiflet (Roy) of Oceanside, CA; his sisters, Gail Niemeyer of Hamlet and Lori Teal of Rockingham; his grandchildren, Connor and Aria Shiflet; his best friend, Gary Arnett of Hoffman; his canine companion, Hoss, and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Born May 23, 1967 in Laurinburg, he was a son of the late Reuben J. and Shirley McGee Pierce. He formerly worked with Pate's Hardware in Laurel Hill and was a 20 plus year veteran of the Laurel Hill Fire Department. He also enjoyed working on and repairing cars in his spare time.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until time for the service at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
