Rebecca "Becky" Dennis Dunn

Rebecca “Becky” Dennis Dunn, more affectionately known as “Granny”, 85, of Troy passed away Sunday, February 2, 2025 at Kindred Hospital of Greensboro.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Liberty Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Mt. Gilead, officiated by Rev. Dennis Shaw.

Born December 15, 1939, in Montgomery County, she was the daughter of the late Randall and Ola Hunsucker Dennis. Becky was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church. Her greatest passion was helping others, especially her family and friends. She was an excellent cook and always made sure everyone had plenty to eat while at her house. Becky had worked at Montgomery County Schools and Sears Catalogue Store for many years.

She is survived by her children, Beverly King and Heidi Dunn of Greensboro; sister, Marie D. Morris of Troy; brother, Jesse Dennis (Mary Ellen) of Troy; sister-in-law, Peggy Dennis of Albemarle; grandson, Gus King (Courtney) of Raleigh; granddaughter, Elizabeth Winfree; great-granddaughter, Kristin Sisk; great-grandson, Boone Winfree; several nieces and nephews; and her four-legged friends, Toby and Jazzie. She is preceded in death by her husband, Hughes Dunn; five brothers; and four sisters.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Liberty Hill Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 569 Liberty Hill Church Rd., Mt. Gilead, NC, 27306.
