Raymond Allan Cain, Sr., 76, died Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at Scotland Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. Howard Harding. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Lounetta Patterson Cain; a son, Allan Cain and wife, Sheila of Cary; a daughter, Susan C. Riddle and husband, Jeff of Fayetteville; five grandchildren, A. J. Riddle, Tyler Riddle, Ethan Riddle, Spencer Cain, and Eli Cain.
Born April 7, 1935 in Cumberland County, he was a son of the late Harlan and Virginia Cain. He served with the US Navy from 1954 to 1958 and later was a ceramic tile installer for 40 years. He was also a member of the Maxton American Legion Post where he was past Commander.
Raymond and Lounetta co-hosted a late winter/early spring barbecue at their home for many years that was a welcoming and enjoyable event for the hundreds that attended. He was also an avid reader, enjoyed being with people, and loved fishing and beekeeping. He also loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium, Laurinburg.
