Phillip Rodney Gooch, 68, passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2018.
A funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 8, 2018 at Ophir United Methodist Church, officiated by the Rev. Bill Knapp. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Born July 16, 1949 in Davidson County, he was a son of the late Dock Otis and Hazel Revell Gooch. He retired as a self-employed truck driver and loved woodworking, fishing and enjoying the outdoors.
Phillip is survived by his children, Josh Gooch, Sunshine G. Dennis and Christopher Stoker, all of Troy; his brothers and sisters, Janie Morgan, Richard Gooch, Linda Karriker, Steve Gooch and Kaye Norris, all of Troy; and three grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Reginald Gooch, Billy Gooch and Brownie Gooch, and sister, Brenda Maness.
A visitation will be Sunday, January 7, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at Ophir United Methodist Church, and other times at 2410 Flint Hill Rd, Troy, NC 27371.
