Mr. Phillip Mitchell Essey, Sr., 85, of 329 N. Florence Street died Wednesday, October 11, at his residence.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Mary Catholic Church with Father Kevin Fahey officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
Born February 5, 1915 in Laurinburg, he was a son of the late Joseph and Kamel Bachara Essey, husband of the late Kathleen D. Essey and was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Essey Rizk and a brother, Louis J. Essey.
Mr. Essey was a co-owner of E & S Motors and Essey Brothers Realty. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.
He is survived by one daughter, Kay Essey Ryan of Oak Island, one son; Phillip Mitchell Essey, Jr. of Laurinburg, one sister; Pauline Nofal of Florence, SC, one brother; Albert Essey of Laurinburg, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
