Percy Ammons

March 12, 1918 — August 5, 2000

Mr. Percy Ammons, 82, of 24780 White Street, Wagram, died Saturday at the Edwin Morgan Center.


Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday at Montpelier Presbyterian Church with Revs. Jim Johns and Tom Kinder officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.



Born March 12, 1918 in Robeson County, he was the son of the late Clarence and Daisey Martin Ammons.



Mr. Ammons was a US Army Air Force veteran of World War II, a retired Civil Service worker for the U.S. Government, past Wagram Town Councilman, a member of the America Legion, and a member and past Elder Emeritus of Montpelier Presbyterian Church.



Surviving are his wife; Mable Clark Ammons of the home, two sons; Ben Ammons and Roger A. Ammons both of Wagram, one sister; Ola Laviner of Wagram. He has seven grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Diane Ammons Snipes in 1992.



The family will be receiving friends from 7 to 9 PM Sunday at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium in Laurinburg.
