Peggy Scott Harden

Peggy Scott Harden, 84, passed away Friday, October 27, 2023 at her residence.

A funeral service will be held Friday, November 3, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at First Wesleyan Church of Troy, officiated by Pastor Ed Lindsey and Rev. Jonathan Burris. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, November 2, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service.

Born June 25, 1939, in Wake County, she was a daughter of the late Ervin and Helen Presnell Scott. Peggy enjoyed traveling, going to church, and cooking. She loved watching gameshows and The Hallmark Channel. Peggy had such a kind heart and enjoyed helping people.

She is survived by her sister, Frances Dunn (Alvin) of Troy and brother, Richard Scott (Roxanne) of Wadeville; seventeen nieces and nephews; and special friends, Shelia Coggins, Carolyn Dunn, and Mike Ingram. She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Harden; and brothers, George Phillip Scott, Perry Alton Scott, Charles Scott, Ricky Scott, Frankie Scott, Johnnie Scott, and Mike Scott.

The family would like to send a special thank you to the FirstHealth Hospice for the care they gave Peggy.
