Peggy Coble Clark, 85, of Troy passed away Monday, December 1, 2025 at FirstHealth Hospice & Palliative Care in West End.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, December 6, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Troy, officiated by Pastor Rodney Holmes and Pastor Rupert Medford. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church.
Born April 27, 1940, in Montgomery County, she was a daughter of the late Paul Lee and Louise Christenbury Coble. As a young lady in her twenties, Peggy began her career working for the Taylor family with Alliene Furniture Corporation and Taylor Homes in Troy. Her last place of employment was with Troy Lumber Company, where she worked for over 65 years as an accountant until she retired. Peggy truly loved her job. During this time of employment, Peggy had worked for three different generations of the Taylor family. She was also a longtime member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with her church family.
In her spare time, Peggy loved cooking, baking, reading, going to the mountains, and listening to Bluegrass music. But most of all, Peggy loved each and every moment she spent with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Eldridge Harrison Clark of the home; brother, Bernard Coble (Lois) of Candor; sisters, Cornelia Perry (Steve) of Aberdeen and Brenda Wilhoit of Troy; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Coble of Concord and Linda Coble of Troy; numerous nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Rev. Darrell Coble, Paul Coble, Harvey Coble; and brother-in-law, Wayne Wilhoit.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to FirstHealth Hospice & Palliative Care, 251 Campground Rd., West End, NC 27376.
