Pauline Deese

February 20, 1936 — February 17, 2021

Laurinburg

Pauline “Bibby” Deese, was a loving daughter of the late James Will Deese and Magalene McGirt Deese born February 20, 1936 in Robeson County, North Carolina.   She was a devoted mother that filled her home with love while raising her family.  She loved cooking, baking cakes for her family, reading, the beach and shopping.

Adored by her family and many others, Pauline was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who will be remembered for her loving spirit, compassion for everyone, and the love she shared with so many.  She went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at the age of 84.

A funeral service will be 2:00 pm Saturday, February 20, 2021 at the Bumgarner Family Funeral Service and Crematorium Chapel, officiated by Rev. Brett Davis. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service in the chapel. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, please wear a mask or face covering and practice social distancing. The service will be livestreamed on the funeral home’s Facebook page.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Heather Wright; brothers, James A. Deese, William L. Deese, and Robert D. Deese.

Pauline leaves to cherish her memory her children, Timothy Deese, of the home; Juanita (Timothy) Starling of Laurinburg, Grace Outlaw, of McColl, Sandra (Jimmie) Hunt of Lumberton, Mary (Kevin) Williams, of Marston, Paula (Ricky) Wright of Bennettsville and John (Tammy) Deese of Maxton; sisters,  Magalene Kilton, of Laurinburg, Elizabeth (Terry) Marshall of Maxton, Mary Lewis  of Laurinburg; twenty one grandchildren; twenty nine great grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, loving family, friends and her pet companions of the home, Ms. Coco, Mr. Winston, Mr. Broady and Mr. Clark.

Pauline took part in raising many children that were not her own.  If we were to list them here, we would fail to list them all.  She gave freely of all that she had and often all that she had to give was her love for others and her love for life.  She retired from the Public Schools of Robeson County after years of service as a Custodian.

Bumgarner Family Funeral Service and Crematorium is assisting the Deese family.
