Paula Hasty

Paula Ingram Hasty, age 91, of Laurinburg, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Scotland Regional Hospice.

A visitation to honor Paula’s life will be held at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service and Crematorium in Laurinburg, NC, on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a graveside service at Hillside Cemetery, commencing at 2:30 PM.

Born on February 28, 1934, in Darlington County, South Carolina, to the late Thomas Hunter and Florence Frye Ingram. Paula was a woman of many talents, admired for her extraordinary singing voice. Her love for music was intertwined with her warmth and generosity; she not only sang beautifully but also treasured the moments spent cooking for those she cared about. Paula had an undeniable gift for hospitality, often hosting her children’s friends and creating a welcoming atmosphere filled with laughter and love.

Paula is survived by her daughter, Shelly Hasty Langdon (T. Mitchell), of Laurinburg; and her son, Chip Hasty (Sukhi Barros), of Charleston, SC; granddaughters, Graysen Hasty of Washington, D.C., and Dakota Hasty of Charleston, SC. Her family also includes her sister, Harriett Smith, of Asheboro, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Gene Hasty; and her sister, Vivian James.
