Mr. Paul LeRoy Pullen, 73, of 908 Gilchrist Street died Monday, February 3, after a courageous battle due to complications of cancer surgery.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium Chapel officiated by Pastor Jimmy Bruce. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary McDonald Pullen; a son, Steve Pullen and wife, Cathy of Laurinburg; four sisters, Midge Rodgers, Louise Pullen, and Ann York of Richmond, IN and Marie Peterson of St. Paul, MN; two granddaughters, Brooke and Paige Pullen of Laurinburg; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Born March 31, 1929 in Richmond, IN, he was a son of the late Cecil and Velma Baker Pullen. He served with the US Army during the Korean conflict and retired from Rea Magnet Wire in 1985 after 21 years of service.
Paul was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing until a week before his surgery. He was a quiet unassuming man who loved his family and friends and a simple life.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
