Patricia Gail Davenport, 75, of Troy, passed away Monday, June 1, 2026 at FirstHealth Hospice and Palliative Care in West End.
A funeral service will be held Friday, June 5, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at Ophir Methodist Church in Troy, officiated by Pastor Glen Hancock and Pastor Chris West. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church.
Born February 18, 1951, in Montgomery County, she is the daughter of Delores Auman Saunders of Troy and the late Alfred Burns Saunders. Patricia was the owner/operator of Gail’s Daycare and a caregiver. She was a member of Ophir Methodist Church. She enjoyed shopping, cruises, spending time with her grandchildren, and the beach. Patricia was a collector of many different things, very organized, and she always had to make sure she was fixed up right before she went out. She always supported her children and grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Richard Davenport of the home; children, Chris Davenport (Cindy) of Stanly County, David Davenport (Danelle) and Jessica Parsons (Kevin), both of Montgomery County, and Michael Davenport (Rene) of Randolph County; sister, Vickie Maness; brothers, Neil Saunders and Phillip Saunders (Debbie); grandchildren, Nicole, Kerstin, Nathan (Anna), Kendall, Kailey, Ariana, Lily, Wyatt, Waylon, Weston, Casey Brown, Felicia Brown, and Colby Brown; and great-grandchildren, Kaysen and Maci. She is preceded in death by her brother, Ken Saunders and grandchild, Sabrina Brown.
