Oleta Frances Gibson

Ms. Oleta Frances Gibson, 52,died Wednesday, March 3, at her home in Columbia after an extended illness.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Luke United Methodist Church in Laurinburg, NC.
She was born July 31, 1946 in Marlboro County, SC and was a daughter of the late Claude K. and Marjorie Smart Gibson. She was a retired registered nurse and served in the US Army Reserve from 1990 - 1998.
She is survived by her companion, Daryl Kinlaw of Columbia; a son, Richard Rasmussen of Columbia; two daughters, Deanna Stephens and Anna Rasmussen of Lumberton, NC; a brother, Jack Gibson of Red Springs, NC; two sisters, Dianne Mitchum of Raeford, NC and Connie Thompson of Laurinburg, NC; five grandchildren.
Memorials are requested to the Bernice Smith Cancer Fund, c/o BMC Foundation, Taylor at Marion St., Columbia, SC 29220 or Hospice of Scotland County, PO Box 1033, Laurinburg, NC 28353.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Friday at 12880 Providence Rd., Laurinburg.
