On Saturday, August 11, 2018, the “Larger than Life” Vann Hodges Sullivan left this life at 47 years young. Vann was born on July 27, 1971 in the quaint town of Laurinburg to outstanding parents, Paul Warren and Linda Hodges Sullivan.
Vann graduated from Scotland High School in 1989 after 4 years of sports, fun and memories. He was currently employed with ICU of Laurinburg. Vann enjoyed playing golf and spending time entertaining his friends and family with his wise cracks and sense of humor. There are few photos and memories of him being serious or with a shirt on. He rarely missed a party or get together with friends and was usually the life of such events. Vann thoroughly enjoyed life in beach style-shorts, flip flops and cold drink in hand. Most recently Vann’s sport of choice was golf cart driving around Scotch Meadows after work and on weekends.
Vann was unfortunately preceded in his passing by his parents, Paul and Linda, also by his grandparents Ed F. Hodges and Hilda Vann Hodges. He is survived by his dedicated fiancée Holly J. Russell, valiant son, River Elijah Russell, Holly’s mother, Ann Russell of the home, his brothers, Warren (April), Will (Amanda) and his sister Louise and several nieces and a nephew.
A “Vann planned” memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2018 for his final Tee-Time from 6-8 pm at Scotch Meadows Country Club. Vann wanted friends and family to enjoy his last 19th hole with music and a brew.
Memorial donations may be made to: Scotland Regional Hospice, PO Box 1033, Laurinburg, N.C. 28353
