Mr. O. L. Collins, Jr., 74, of 600 S. Turnpike Rd, died Saturday, January 5, 2008.
A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church officiated by the Revs. Ralph Brown and Patricia Stone.
He is survived by his wife, Ernestine Patterson Collins; two daughters, Suzanne Lagerholm of Odense, Denmark and Rebecca Collins of Laurinburg; a sister, Jean C. Hood of Fort Mill, SC; four grandchildren, Clara Lagerholm, Grace Lagerholm, Adam Collins, and Olivia Collins.
Born January 13, 1933 in Fort Mill, SC he was a son of the late Otis L. and Grace Moore Collins. He was a 1955 graduate of Clemson University and served with the US Army from 1955-1957. He served in textile management with Springs Mills, J. P. Stevens, and later Charles Craft.
O. L. was an active member of the First United Methodist Church where he was a member of the United Methodist Men, the Ed Guest Sunday school class, and served as an usher. He was also a former member of the Laurinburg Kiwanis Club.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 101 W. Church ST., Laurinburg, NC 28352.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
