Mrs. Nunice Jernigan Sweatt, 79, formerly of Gibson died Saturday in Avon, IN.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium Chapel. Burial will follow in Pine crest Cemetery.
Born September 21, 1927 in Scotland County, she was a daughter of the late E. J. and Caro Locklear Jernigan and widow of the late Roy Purnell and Leon Sweatt.
She is survived by two sisters, Lois Ann Ellis of Plainfield, IN and Clare Nitti of Greenwood, IN; two brothers, Oliver "O. J." Jernigan and Newman Jernigan of Gibson.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Culbreth "Doc" Jernigan
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
