Norman Clay Mckeithan

March 23, 1963 — February 15, 2010

Norman Clay McKeithan, of Gadsden, Alabama, originally from Laurinburg, North Carolina, passed away suddenly Monday, Feb. 15, 2010.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Feb. 19, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Laurinburg Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Dr. Neal Carter, Jr. and the Rev. Elizabeth G. Forrester officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park in Laurinburg. Pallbearers will be Mac McKeithan, Charles McKeithan, Ray McKeithan, Steve Urie, Neil Weber and Lee Richardson.

Leaving to cherish his memories are his son, John McKeithan of Laurinburg; his mother, Norma McKeithan of Laurinburg; brother Mac McKeithan and wife, Becky of Laurinburg; brother Charles McKeithan and wife, Rosemary of Laurinburg; sister Laura Beth Urie and husband, Steve of Laurinburg; sister Patsy Weber and husband, Neil of Wilmington; and his twin brother Ray McKeithan and wife, Robin of Washington, North Carolina. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and countless friends.

Mr. McKeithan was born March 23, 1963 in Laurinburg and was Regional Account Manager for Meyn America. He was an avid fisherman, outdoorsman, golfer and a vocal supporter of Tar Heel basketball. He was a devoted father, son, brother, uncle and friend to many. His selfless, never-ending devotion to his family was the biggest joy of his life. His hard work and genuine compassion earned him the respect of his family and peers. His resilience, strength and perseverance made him a success in business and in life. He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert McKeithan, Jr.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight, February 18, 2010 at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium in Laurinburg.
