Norma Leigh Holt McKeithan of Laurinburg, NC, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at the age of 91.
Norma is survived by children, Mac McKeithan and wife, Becky of Laurinburg; Laura Beth Urie and husband, Steve of West End; Ray McKeithan and wife, Robin of Washington, NC; and Patsy Weber of Leland, NC. She was blessed with 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert McKeithan, Jr. and children Charles McKeithan and Clay McKeithan, as well as two grandchildren, Lee Richardson and John McKeithan. She was forever grateful to her right-hand man and family friend, Joel Worth and wife Joyce.
Norma was born and raised in Asheboro, NC where she admitted to being spoiled by a large, loving family. She met her sweetheart Herb and prided herself on the beautiful life they created together. Nonnie, as most in her community knew her, is remembered for her positive spirit and unconditional love for her family and countless friends. Her bright smile, welcoming disposition, and contagious laughter were extended to many who sought friendship, loyalty, and support. Strong and resilient, she was an inspiration to many who faced difficult times. She felt her purpose in life was to help others and live in faithful devotion to God, her church, her family, and others in Laurinburg. She will be missed dearly by many and remembered fondly for the positive impact she left on so many lives.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, September 1st at Laurinburg Presbyterian Church, officiated by the Rev. Dr. Neal Carter, Jr. and Rev. Rebekah Carpenter. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall.
