Nola Mae Kersey

Nola Mae Kersey, 78 of McColl, SC, passed away, Monday, June 25, 2018 at her granddaughter’s home in Hamlet, NC.

The funeral service will be at 4:00 pm Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Outreach for Jesus in Hamlet, officiated by Bishop Marvin Taylor.  Burial will follow at Rogers Cemetery in McColl, SC.  A visitation will be 6-8 pm, Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium and other times at her granddaughter’s home at 115 Sellers Drive, Hamlet.

Born July 23, 1939 in Marlboro County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Ben and Mattie Lee Brigman Strickland.  She attended Outreach For Jesus and was a homemaker. Nola loved planting flowers and watching them grow into the beauty that they were.

She is survived by one daughter, Brenda C. Locklear and husband, Hugh of Clio, SC; one granddaughter, Amy Leviner and husband Brian of Hamlet; two brothers Billy Ray Strickland of Rowland and James Strickland of Rockingham; and a sister, Annie Pruitt of Bennettsville, SC.  She was preceded in death by her husband, L.C. Kersey, a daughter, Lisa Carol Kersey, a granddaughter, Rhonda Clay Chinn, and three brothers, Charles Strickland, Tracy Strickland and William Strickland.
