Nelda Elizabeth Lee, 84, of Laurinburg passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at Scotland Memorial Hospital.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, July 10 at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church officiated by the Revs. Gene Tyson and Nancy Willard. The Visitation will precede the Service from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. in the Ed Guest Building. Burial will follow the service at Richmond Memorial Park in Rockingham, NC.
She is survived by her three nieces, Becky McKeithan, and husband Mac, Deborah Pierce and husband Ronald all of Laurinburg, and Peggy Billings of Chester, SC; four great nieces Mollie Young and husband Chris of Charlotte, Maggie McKeithan, Mary Caitlan McKeithan, and Rebecca Pierce all of Laurinburg; and three great nephews, Ryan Pierce of Laurinburg, Mike Billings and wife Susan, and Todd Billings and wife Lori both of Chester, SC.
Born November 4, 1926 in Kannapolis, NC, daughter of the late James Moses and Mary Bell McIntyre Lee. Ms. Lee was the 9th of 12 children and the last surviving child. She was a graduate of the Chester High School. Nelda retired with many years of service from the Clio Medical Center as an Office Manager. She also worked in the Business Office at St. Andrews Presbyterian College and at Scotland Memorial Hospital.
Nelda was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Laurinburg, where she served as a Stephen Minister. She was also a Member of the Bennettsville Pilot Club where she was a past President, and had 43 years of perfect attendance. She also served as a past SC District Governor of the Pilot Club International.
