Mr. Nathan Eugene "Inky" Chavis., 60, of 1508 Biggs Street died Saturday, December 27, at Scotland Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Laurinburg Pentecostal Holiness Church officiated by the Rev. Gary Wilson. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys Chavis; of Britthaven in Hamlet; three sons, Jesse Roberts of Laurinburg, Kenny Mansfield and Jeff Mansfield of Pennsylvania; two daughters, Joy Jacobs of Laurinburg and Lisa Mansfield of Pennsylvania; a brother, Landon Chavis of Laurinburg; a sister, Martha Norton of Laurinburg; a sister-in-law, Lorie Hilburn of Laurinburg; four grandchildren, Travis Roberts, Christopher Mansfield, Christina Mansfield and Dylan Mansfield; one special nephew, John Taulton.
Born December 14, 1943 in Scotland County, he was a son of the late Dan and Avie Jane Sanderson Chavis. "Inky" lived in the High Point area from 1960 thru 1979. He was a retired machinist for Carolmet. He attended Laurinburg Pentecostal Holiness Church for 24 years and was a member of Mena
