Mrs. Nancy Smith Peele, 74, of Aberdeen Road died Saturday, February 16, at Scotland Memorial Hospital.
Memorial services will be 4 p..m. Thursday at the North Laurinburg Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, the Rev. Dr. Terry E. Peele of Burlington and David Peele of Hamlet; a daughter, Diane Priest of Laurinburg; one brother, Nathan Smith of California; two half sisters, Bonnie Smith of Hamlet and Christine Shaw of Fairbluff; five grandchildren, Jerry Mitchell Priest, Jr., Elizabeth Peele Crotty, Celia Amanda Jackson, Terry Everette Peele, Jr., and Lauren Ashley Peele; and two great grandchildren, Zacgart M. Kendall and Cody Anthony Ellis. She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. L. Everette Peele.
Born February 18, 1933 in Marlboro County, she was a daughter of the late Nathan and Layler Smith. She was retired from Abbott Labs. She was instrumental in helping her husband start South Laurinburg Baptist Church in 1963.
Memorials are requested for the Hospice of Scotland County, PO Box 1033, Laurinburg, NC 28353 or the Christian charity of one's choice.
The family will receive friends following the memorial service at the home of Mrs. Peele.
