Nancy Armistead "Nan" Forbes, 96, died Friday at her home in Hickory.
A private family graveside service was held 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Hillside Cemetery, Laurinburg.
She is survived by her son, Gus Evans Forbes, Jr. of Charlotte and her daughter, Nancy Forbes Thorwarth of Hickory.
Born May 3, 1918 in Kinston, NC she was the widow of the late Dr. Gus E. Forbes and was an active member of the First United Methodist Church and community volunteer in Laurinburg as long as her health permitted.
Memorials are requested for the First United Methodist Church, 101 W. Church St., Laurinburg, NC 28352.
