Mrs. Monnie Mae Bowen Locklear, 78, of 4859 Stateline Rd. died Friday, October 3, at Scotland Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at the Berea United Methodist Church officiated by the Rev. Eugene Cattrell and Dr. Glenn Harris. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.

Born July 27, 1925 in Scotland County, she was a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Seals Bowen. She was a homemaker and a retired employee of Eaton Corporation.

She is survived by her sons, Clyde Locklear and wife, Willie of Laurel Hill, James Locklear and wife, Janie of Bennettsville, and William Locklear and wife, Christine of Laurinburg; three daughters, Betty Locklear and husband, Blanchard (Shorty) of McColl, Wanda Strickland and husband, Roy of Laurinburg; and Audrey Locklear of Gibson; a sister, Gladys Dunn of Laurinburg; 12 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 5 step-great grandchildren; and one step-great-great grandchild.

Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Saturday at Berea United Methodist Church.

McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium is assisting the family with the services.
