Mitchell T. Hurley

Mitchell T. Hurley, 82, of Troy, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, April 7, 2022 surrounded by his family.

A graveside service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, April 10, 2022 at Callicutt Chapel Wesleyan Church, officiated by Rev. Richard Lynthacum. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Due to COVID-19 guidelines, face masks are suggested and please practice social distancing.

Mitchell was born to Leland and Pearl Callicutt Hurley on July 3, 1939. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Gene Hurley and grandson, Adam Birckhead.

Mitchell had worked in the furniture/upholstery industry for sixty years. He enjoyed Nascar racing and loved to work in his garden. He loved to see how big he could grow tomatoes.

He is survived by his wife of nearly sixty-two years, Marie Hardister Hurley; daughters, Kim Birckhead (Tom) and Lisa Lynthacum (Bill); grandchildren, Meghan Housley (Brandon), Bo Lynthacum (Sydney), and Cody Lynthacum; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Bryson, Madilyn, and Brayden; sister, Susie Harvell (Raymond); sister-in-law, Faye Hurley; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Saturday, April 9, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service.
