Mrs. Elva Norton Pursley, 99, of 225 Spring Street died Wednesday, December 30, at Scotland Memorial Hospital in Laurinburg.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Snead's Grove United Methodist Church officiated by the Rev. James F. Thompson. Burial will follow in the Snead-Norton Cemetery.
She is survived by one sister, Mary Norton Thompson of Laurinburg.
Born December 18, 1899 in Scotland County, she was a daughter of the late L. F. and Iola Reynolds Norton. She taught elementary school for 39 years in Cornellius, Aulander, Snead's Grove, and Aberdeen. She also taught piano and was a librarian for Scotland County Memorial Library. Elva was also a lifetime member of Snead's Grove United Methodist Church.
