Mrs. Mildred Howard Williams, 86, died Tuesday, August 30.
Her life will be remembered and celebrated in a graveside service at Hillside Cemetery in Laurinburg at 11 a.m. Friday, September 2.
She is survived by two daughters, Jo McKeown and husband, Bill Henry of Stanardsville, VA and Lois Sharpe and husband, David of Durham. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Andrew Sharpe.
Born May 4, 1919 in St. Pauls, she was a daughter of the late Elizabeth Link and Ewen Addison Howard and sister of the late Louise Howard Day and Addison Howard. She grew up in Buies Creek and graduated from UNC-Greensboro. She later taught in Winterville, Laurinburg, and for 20 years in Durham County schools before retiring in 1982. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard McKeown (Mack) Williams.
