Mildred Louise Tyson Dean, 74, died Thursday, July 3, 2014 at her home.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the East Laurinburg Baptist Church officiated by Dr. Glenn Harris and the Rev. Richard Tyson. Burial with a dove ceremony will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
She is survived by her sons, Gene Willis (Robin) and Gary Willis (Sherry) of Morganton, and Billy Willis, Jr. (Kelly) of Asheville; her daughters, Cynthia Norton (Richard) and Vickie Baxley (Ken) of Laurinburg, and Cristol Radford of Laurinburg; her brothers, Marshall Tyson, C. J. Tyson, and Richard Tyson of Laurinburg and Randy Tyson of Florida; her sisters, Norma Maultsby and Sharon Tyson of Laurinburg, and Carolyn VanAntwerp of United Arab Emirates; 24 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Dean, her sister, Pansy Blackwell, her grandson, Seth Pittman, and her great grandsons, Carter Pittman and Steven Anthony.
Born June 21, 1940 in Scotland County, she was a daughter of the late L. T. and Gladys Carter Tyson. She was a retired seamstress who specialized in making wedding dresses. She was a loving mother, Sister, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
